Geely Starray EM-i (2026 super-hybrid)

Our top recommendation for most export markets. Specs: 1.5L hybrid engine, 46.5% thermal efficiency, 18.4 kWh LFP battery, 125 km EV range on CLTC, 1,400+ km combined. Mid-size SUV, 5 seats. Six exterior colors. Two trims (Complete, Inspire).

Geely EX5 (BEV SUV)

Mainstream electric SUV. 530-610 km CLTC range, 60.2/68.4 kWh LFP battery options, factory-RHD and LHD. Ships to 35+ countries. In Malaysia marketed as the Proton eMas 7.

Geely EX2 (compact urban EV)

Compact city-focused EV. 30 kWh LFP, 410 km CLTC, 4 exterior colors. Lowest-priced Geely EV we'd actively stock for export dealers.

Geely Coolray (ICE compact SUV)

Gasoline compact SUV. 1M+ units sold globally. Very strong in Russia, CIS, Middle East, Latin America. 1.5T engine.

Geely Emgrand (ICE compact sedan)

Budget compact sedan. 1.5L ICE or Hi-P hybrid. High-volume export model across many emerging markets.

Geely Galaxy L7 (PHEV SUV)

Previous-generation plug-in hybrid SUV. Similar concept to Starray EM-i but with earlier specs. Still current and available for markets where Starray EM-i homologation is pending.

Geely already exports to 35-50+ countries. Factory export infrastructure (homologation packages, documentation, service networks) exists for most major markets. You're not building from scratch; you're plugging into existing capability.

Multi-brand portfolio

A single supplier relationship can cover mainstream (Geely), premium (Zeekr), affordable (Emgrand), and specialist niches. This lets dealers serve multiple customer segments without managing multiple Chinese supplier relationships.

RHD factory availability

Geely and Zeekr both build RHD models from the factory — EX5, Zeekr X, Zeekr 001, Zeekr 007, Coolray. This matters enormously for UK, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, India, and parts of Southeast Asia.

Lower official-channel conflict

In many emerging markets, Geely's direct distributor presence is less saturating than BYD's. This gives independent dealers more room to operate without stepping on the manufacturer's direct retail business.

What Geely isn't suitable for

Markets with strong factory-direct Geely retail presence (Malaysia via Proton, specific GCC markets, UK, Australia) have more competitive dynamics for independent dealers. In these markets, independent importers usually need to focus on specific niches — fleet sales, secondary cities, models not in the official lineup — rather than trying to compete on price with the national distributor.

For most emerging markets, our default recommendation is the Geely EX5 — factory RHD and LHD, 530-610 km CLTC range, mature export infrastructure, competitive FOB pricing. For markets with limited charging infrastructure, the Starray EM-i super-hybrid is often a better choice.

Is Geely cheaper than BYD for comparable models?

Often yes at the FOB level, especially for comparable mainstream EVs (Geely EX5 vs BYD Atto 3). Geely's pricing also varies less with seasonal demand fluctuations than BYD's. However, both are competitive — the better brand choice usually depends on market-specific factors like official distribution presence and buyer preference.

Does Geely have official export warranties I can sell with?

For markets with official Geely distributor presence, yes — manufacturer warranty applies. For markets without official presence, we provide a 12-month limited mechanical warranty through our Shanghai dealer network. Specific terms depend on the destination — confirm in your RFQ.
